First...that's NOT considerably more lifelike. Granted, it's slightly closer to the real thing than the current cartoon logo, but that's not terribly difficult. And they're both cartoons. Have you ever seen an actual horned frog? I used to play with 'em while visiting my grandparents in Midland and north of Austin when I was a kid. And I never played with anything anywhere close to that. Second, my initial reaction to this one is not particularly positive. My ultimate reaction to this, or any new logo will be colored greatly by how much success the Frogs have while wearing it.

I'm not sure it could be much better...except the open date the first week of the season. The first part of the schedule is the easier portion...then finish with UT and OU...with an open week just before.

That was one of the most obvious dirty plays I have ever seen. Hout grabbed Casey's helmet after the play was completely over and did his best to seriously hurt our QB. Hout should be suspended for the rest of the season!

I agree to a point. I understand he is trying to form his own identity versus Andy Dalton's clean cut image. But I do agree he needs to clean up the hair a little bit. I like having an edge image-wise but looking haggard is something else.

I think our quarterback should probably work out a little....you'd think he'd take a little more responsibility as such an important figure at our school. Kinda seems like he doesn't give a crap that he's so looked up to.

The SMU offensive line is the/or one of the most tenured lines out there. You could tell by the end of the game that they were wearing down and we were getting to McDermott. I just want to know what kind of plan can be placed to shore up the secondary. I will have to look at the recruits from last 2 years and see what we can expect for the future.

The secondary is weak...that's for sure...but I also fault the pass rush. I don't think McDermott was pressured enough. On MOST pass attempts he had plenty of time.

I'm nervous also. It should be a close...high-scoring game. We should also check the SMU band's pockets before they march on the field at half time. We don't need new grass seed sprouting next year.

I felt the same way but the more I think about it, the Big 12 looks enticing. If there are some concessions that are agreed to and Oklahoma's concerns are answered, I think it might be worth it. Money-wise that is...I just wrote a post about the money aspect of a move...Not totally sold yet but it is looking better.

I hope the Big 12 will not become TCU's home. The Big East is a far better choice where we will be treated as equals. The Big 12 is dominated by UT & OU. Everyone else recruits in their shadows. The Big East opens up so many other possibilities for recruiting and advancing to BCS games that I hope TCU will stay the course. Please tell the Big 12, "No thanks."

I have read the same things. Texas may the roadblock in all of this but there is no way we make ourselves vulnerable to all this Big 12 mess. However, I really do think that with Oklahoma committing today and the possibility of a new commissioner, the situation may be a little more intriguing.

In news articles this afternoon...OU President mentions TCU for admission to Big 12 as well as OSU President...T. Boone Pickens...and Mike Gundy. But blogs indicate UT doesn't want TCU. If the Big 12 were stable it might be a good fit...but I don't want to go through this every year.

Thats what I wrote in my latest posting. With Syracuse and Pitt applying to ACC, the Frogs need to stop being reactive and start looking elsewhere. ACC, SEC, PAC12....it doesn't matter just get out there and get it done.

TCU should go to the ACC, its not to late to back out of the not so big east and TCU would still be a power in the ACC, look at Va Tech, not that great of a team, but gets tons of hype. TCU was 2-0 against the ACC in 2009 and the travel would be a little bit better.
